If you’re craving a fresh take on classic comfort, Benny B’s in Port Angeles is quickly becoming the place to be. The shop serves bold, crave‑worthy Roman‑style pizzas and vibrant seasonal salads- all in a warm, stylish space where every bite feels like a little story of its own.
CIE first met Benny last year at a bustling street fair, where he was serving up mouthwatering BBQ from a mobile food trailer. His food had heart, and his ambition was unmistakable. We encouraged him to imagine something bigger: a brick‑and‑mortar business that could anchor his creativity and grow with his community.
Benny took that leap. After completing our Start Simple course, he worked with CIE to secure $28,000 in startup capital through Commerce’s Small Business Resiliency Loan. We also helped him purchase a new storefront sign through a grant from Commerce’s Community Reinvestment Program. With those pieces in place, Benny B’s officially opened its doors this past January in a busy shopping hub just off Highway 101.
“I wouldn’t have been able to launch this business without CIE’s help,” Benny says. “We have a long way to go, but business is already good and growing, keeping our 4 part‑time employees and me busy.”
Benny B’s has already reached break-even at around $6,500 in monthly sales- a major milestone for any new food business. As the summer tourist season approaches, CIE will continue supporting Benny as he strengthens his business practices and explores new marketing strategies to boost sales even further.
“I welcome CIE’s continuing support,” Benny adds.
From a food trailer at a street fair to a thriving neighborhood eatery, Benny’s journey is a reminder of what’s possible when talent meets opportunity- and when community steps in to help local entrepreneurs shine.
