Performance Reviews
Your supervisor will make every effort to give ongoing feedback about your performance. If in doubt, we encourage you to ask your supervisor for feedback.
Periodic performance reviews provide an opportunity to discuss how well the employee is meeting expectations, to clarify job responsibilities, and to explore possibilities for development and advancement. We will provide a template for the annual performance review, which can be adjusted to fit the needs of each individual employee.
Performance reviews are conducted by your supervisor:
-
At the end of the employee’s first six months of employment;
-
At the end of an employee’s first year as an employee or after the first year in a new position of job responsibility; and
-
Typically, in the middle of the last quarter each year thereafter (November 15).
Temporary employees
Temporary employees generally do not receive formal performance appraisals, although their job performance may be monitored and evaluated in other ways.
Salary increases
Wage or salary increases may be tied to an employee’s performance and are at CIE sole discretion.
CIE may grant increases at any time they are considered appropriate based on merit, increased responsibilities, or changes in budget.
Process
Employee completes the performance review template and sends it via email to their supervisor at least 2 business days prior to their scheduled performance review. After the meeting, the employee and supervisor may revise the form based on their conversation before finalizing with their signatures. Form must be completed and signed within 3 business days from the date of the meeting.
