Are you an Emerging Social Entrepreneur on the North Olympic Peninsula?

Communities in Clallam and Jefferson Counties are increasingly encouraging independent local businesses to take the lead in innovating new business models intentionally designed to transition to a local economy that is more socially equitable, more environmentally sustainable, and more self-sufficient and resilient. The Green Equity Accelerator rises to the challenge.

A cohort of 10 ventures will be selected to participate in the accelerator. Priority will be given to emerging or early-stage social enterprises being developed by overlooked founders – people with limited resources who have traditionally been excluded from business ownership opportunities. Participants will harness the creative energy and leadership potential of the entrepreneurial mindset to start social enterprises that turn waste to profit, reduce food miles and carbon footprints, develop renewable clean energy, and other innovations, leading the North Olympic Peninsula in the transition to the new green economy.

The accelerator will consist of a 14-module training program, with feedback from experienced local business professionals and subject matter experts, access to local volunteer mentors, and ongoing counseling from CIE’s business advisors during and after the training. The training will culminate in a pitch event and business showcase where up to 10 participants completing all required activities will receive up to $5,000 in startup capital to move their projects forward. You’ll find an overview, key dates, participant expectations and the application below.
